I remember the Twinkles' cartoon as a kid. I also remember it was a cereal along with three other cereals/cartoons. One was Kris Kringles, a rice cereal like Rice Crispies. The little character was a Chinaman. I can't remember the other cereals/cartoons. Anyone remember?

I don't think the Twinkles cartoon was ever a part of the Rocky and Bullwinkle show -- King Leonardo, yes, but not Rocky and Bullwinkle. Kudos to the website, though, for remembering this cereal. Fulton the Camel was a great character, and my role model as a life-long poseur and failure.

I loved this cereal when I was a kid and could not wait for my mom to buy the next box so I could read the story while I ate and I didn't really like other cereals.

Enjoyed this cereal when I was a kid, and especially liked the storybook boxes. I always read my cereal box while eating breakfast; Twinkles gave me a story to read - more fun than ingredients lists and so on. I was the only kid in first grade who even knew the word 'acknowledgements' and I learned it from reading cereal boxes!

I still have stuffed Twinkles animal. His trunk would go round after I winded it. I still remember this good taste and enjoyed reading the comic book on the back of Twinkles cereal box.

Seriously, they bring back old tv shows, then bring back our TWINKLES General Mills! We miss it. It would be like no 'big G little o no mo Cherrios'. What can we do to convince you? - from 'The Baby Boomer Generation'

I remember being one of those kids that was called Twinkles in school due to the size of my nose. I will never forget that jingle for as long as I live, 'nose, nose, anything goes'. It's all good now and the cereal was good.

I think of this cereal sometimes when thinking of my childhood. I had a friend with a big nose. Called him Twinkles then recited the ditty, 'Nose, nose anything goes.'

I have no memory of how it tasted. Just remember thinking how cool it was to have a 3-page cartoon to read while eating it.

Eat at your own risk as it tended to get stale. I almost got sick on this stuff back in '63. I think shortly afterward it was discontinued. The commercials were a bit on the sissy side as well. Just my opinion so please don't take it too seriously.

I remember this cereal when I was a child. Why did they discontinue it and the story book box? I often think about that cereal and the elephant adventures now as part of my childhood memories!
