Corn Flakes (Carnation)
From: Independent / Undefined

According to a 1948 magazine ad:

"Carnation CORN FLAKES At Your Grocers NOW - They're NEW! They're CRISP! They're 'HONEY-TOASTED'! - The best-tasting Corn Flakes you ever ate are now at your favorite grocers!"

Other ads made the claim, "Guaranteed Crisper Where Crispness Counts In Milk Or Cream."

For a time, Woody Woodpecker appeared on boxes of this cereal. Known premiums: trading cards and a send away offer for a 6-Unit Circus Wagon Parade.

I remember the taste of Carnation Corn Flakes. It was like eating sweetcorn on the cob. When I eat Kellogg's... it's just not the same. I sure miss them.

I never knew about Carnation Corn Flakes cereal. I knew about the milk. When did Carnation stop making the cereal? I was born in 1968.

These actually lasted into at least the mid-1960s. They were good corn flakes at a good price. I think these were only sold on the West Coast.

I grew up on Carnation Corn Flakes. It was always in the cupboards, at my request! I remember the beautiful red and white waxy wrapper that covered the cardboard box and at my age was a little hard to open but I was relentless, I wanted my corn flakes, every morning. My two grown daughters and all of my grandchildren know about Carnation Corn Flakes, as I have told them many times, there is nothing to compare!! A part of my childhood that is so special, I will remember it always. Thanks Carnation!!

With the "Carnation" name... just imagine that "Carnation fresh milk" is combined with these corn flakes.

A very special cereal. I don't remember the taste, I just know they were much more delicious than Kellogg's and those awful Post' Toasties. Love that red and white box.

I remember how really good and delicious Carnation Corn Flakes were. I liked them better than the Kellogg's brand. I sure miss them and I think about that big red box all the time.
