Introduced in 1998
A generic frosted corn flake cereal packaged to feature quarterback Doug Flutie. The cereal debuted while Flutie was playing for the Buffalo Bills in 1998.
A percentage of the proceeds went to the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, created in honor of the football player's autistic son.
According to the side of the box, "The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism was launched by Buffalo Bill's quarterback Doug Flutie and his wife, Laurie, in April 1998 as part of The Giving Back Fund, a national non-profit organization that creates and professionally manages charitable foundations for athletes, entertainers and others."
Flutie Flakes were developed by PLB Sports of Pittsburgh, the same company that gave us Elway's Comeback Crunch, Kurt Warner's Crunch Time Cereal and Lynn Swann's Super 88's Cereal.
The ingredients list for Flutie Flakes consisted of degermed corn grits, sugar, malt flavoring, salt, corn syrup and a sprinkling of vitamins and minerals.
The back of the box we were lucky to obtain has a Flutie Flakes t-shirt offer on the back.

You didn't buy these for the cereal. You bought the box. The cereal was extra.
