Introduced in 1990
In 1990, Nabisco was test marketing (or planning to test market) this nutritionally fortified shredded wheat cereal. At the same time, Kellogg's was test marketing their own nutritionally fortified shredded wheat cereal called Whole Grain Shredded Wheat.
Kellogg's called their cereal "the most nutritious shredded wheat you can buy." Nabisco threatened to sue them for making "false claims of nutritional superiority." Kellogg's responded to the threat by suing Nabisco. The suit alleged that Spoon Size Shredded Wheat Plus was a ripoff off Kellogg's new cereal.
The dispute was settled out of court and both companies continued to test market their creations.
That is likely where the story ends. We've haven't found any evidence to show that either of the cereals went beyond test markets to general distribution.

Spoon Size Shredded Wheat used to be my favorite cereal, but it isn't the same as it was up to a few years ago. Suddenly, it had a white powder all over it, then it turned out to be hard. It wouldn't soften in milk. It looks more like Wheat Chex. The taste I enjoyed is gone.
