I moved away from Anchorage 13 years ago, and I
stiil think of Gwennies once in a while. It once took me 2 days just to eat my leftovers from breakfast. Lot's of good food! Love it!

While in Anchorage recently, it appears that someone at Gwennie's obtained my credit card number and immediately started making on line purchases. . .My advise is to not let your card out of your site while there. . .

Okay, so the place is a "tourist trap".
The problem with such an oversimplification is....mmm, REINDEER SAUSAGE.
I don't know why this place is so gosh darn good. I think the best sign was when i drifted in too early on an otherwise forgettable Anchorage winter "day" and wondered about if there's any pie this early. Sure enough i ate up my breakfast, with Blitzen on the side to fill my belly, and barely remembered mumbling something about pecan being my fave.
They baked the pecan pie first and set a slice out for a couple of minutes so they could serve it to me fresh.
No joke. I made it back into town, cleaned up nicely, and my firm won a contract big enough that i can buy the house chili bowls...but that's not breakfast. Plus, it used to be a brothel. How cool is that?
